If I was a member of Congress, I would probably vote for military intervention in Syria because Assad has been killing his own people. Just using chemical weapons is extremely horrible, but using them on his own people (regardless of innocent civilians or the rebels) is just so unreasonable and inhumane.
In order to gain support for his proposed military actions, president Obama is asking congress to approve his decision for the air strike against Syria to warn them to stop using chemical warfare and that killing innocent people is not right. It is good that president Obama is going to congress to let them decide what to do. I think what president Obama doing now is the right thing to do. Even though he wants to help people of Syria, since he's the president of the United States, he's also considering the feelings of the people of his country, and it is very important that we (the people of the US) accept his actions regarding this crisis. I think that we will take action against the Assad regime since we cannot just stand and watch knowing a terrible crime is taking place. Even though this is very risky, it is important that we should stop watching innocent people die while doing nothing.
